For the contribution to Microwave Engineering by
Dr. S Raghavan, Professor (Retd.) of NIT Trichy, during the last fifty years, the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society, Madras chapter has Recognized him with the ‘LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD’. The award was handed
over by the Chair Dr. T Shanmuganathan in the presence of Govt. of India SAMEER
Scientist Shri. Balakrishna I, ISRO senior scientist Shri. Purushothaman and Dr. Ashok Kumar, Head, ECE division, Raja Lakshmi Engineering College, Chennai during
the workshop on “Antennas, Technologies and Trends’ held in Pondicherry
University where around sixty delegates across the state participated. The
contribution of the Professor includes around two hundred journal papers, three
patents, two state-of-the-art international books, the establishment of a Microwave
Integrated Circuits center, successful completion of 20 Ph.D.'s research works
on recent topics of societal value (recognized by DRDO officials and Defense
minister Hon. Rajnath Singh). Popularizing Microwave Education among student communities at both national and international levels, Invited talks and Tutorials on the
international IEEE platforms in Microwave Engineering. His expertise in ‘Microwave
Integrated Circuits’ is well known among the Microwave community.
