FORMER NIT - TRICHY PROFESSR SELECTED FOR IETE MAIN AWARD It gives us great pleasure to share that Prof. Dr. S. Raghavan of the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, has been chosen for the prestigious R. S. Khandpur Award 2025 by the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE). This honor recognizes his outstanding contributions to theoretical and applied research, medical engineering, and the integration of microwave technology with biomedical diagnostics. The award will be formally presented during the upcoming IETE convention in Chandigarh later this year, as confirmed in an official communication from NIT Trichy. HANDBOOK OF NANO-METAMATERIALS BOOK RELEASE FUNCTION   The Antenna Test and Measurement Society (ATMS), during its 15th International Conference held in Mumbai, unveiled the international publication  “Handbook of Nano-Metamaterials” , published by Springer. The book was edited by Dr. V. Krushnakanth (Queen’s University and research scholar of Prof. S. Raghavan, Retired Professor, NIT Trichy), Dr. Balamati (Scientist, NAL), and Dr. Vinod (Scientist). The release ceremony, held on 30th May 2025, featured prominent attendees including delegates from Ukraine, Spain, the Netherlands, and Russia. The book was formally launched by the Chief General Manager of BSNL, the Chief Scientist of TIFR, an NAI Scientist, ATMS Secretary Dr. R.K. Malvia, and Prof. Dr. S. Raghavan.    Notably, three research scholars mentored by Prof. Raghavan contributed chapters to the book.

TWO-DAY INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SMART TECHNOLOGIES IN ELECTRONICS AND PHOTONIC SYSTEMS AT RAMCO INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY The Department of ECE, in association with the IEEE Photonics Society SBC, conducted a " Two-Day International Conference on Smart Technologies in Electronics and Photonics Systems (ICSTEPS 2025)" from 3 to 4 April 2025.  Prof. Dr. S. Raghavan attended the conference as a Guest of Honour and delivered an inspiring speech on Frequency Selective Surfaces. He highlighted recent advancements in photonics, microwave engineering, as well as their applications in the aerospace and defense sectors.  Prof. Dr. S. Raghavan  encouraged the students to develop application-oriented technologies in fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Photonics, Smart Technologies, Data Science, and the Internet of Things (IoT).
